AI session on a task
An AI session can run on any task: an ongoing conversation with the AI plus a queue of jobs it works through one after another. It appears as the session box in the task's info column; the expand icon opens it large.
Previously: "Hand over to AI"
The earlier function of handing selected items to an external AI as a prompt (VS Code, claude.ai, ChatGPT in the browser, clipboard) no longer exists. The work now happens inside Liza – in the session on the task or in the Claude Code tab.
The three zones of the session box

Adding jobs to the queue
At the bottom of the box you write what comes next – Enter creates the job, Shift+Enter inserts a line break. Attachments are possible.
Every job has a state:

|---|---|
| Noted | In the queue, but nothing happens. |
| Armed | Starts as soon as the AI is free. |
| Running | Being worked on right now. |
| Failed / Canceled | With a reason; the queue stops. |
Individual jobs can be started immediately with "Run now" or armed with "Mark for automatic execution".
Auto-start
The auto-start switch applies per session:
- On – every job in the queue starts as soon as the AI is free; the queue works through itself.
- Off – jobs are only noted and started individually via ▶.
The run stops by itself when a job fails, the AI has a question, you stop the run, a great many jobs have run in a row, or the run's cost cap is reached. The reason is shown in the box; "Continue" resumes.
Working from the history
Individual points in the chat history can be reused:
- Start a chapter here – structures the session.
- Note as a sub-task / Send to the AI – notes the point as a job in the queue.
- Turn into a real sub-task – creates an item in Liza from it.
Requirements
- A configured AI access – included Liza AI or your own key, see Set up AI.
- For jobs with file access: the desktop app.
On a schedule
If a job should not run now but regularly, it belongs in the schedule.
